Fighter legend Neville Duke dies at age 85

RAF Squadron Leader Neville Duke died on 7 April 2007 in Chertsey, England at age 85. Duke collapsed shortly after taking a flight with his wife in his private aircraft and passed away in hospital later the same day.

Duke was a fighter pilot and ace with the Royal Air Force in World War II. Later he became a test pilot. In 1953 he set a new world air speed record achieving approximately 1 170 kilometers per hour in the Hawker Hunter.
